MLB Baseball Betting: Toronto Blue Jays at Colorado Rockies

The Toronto Blue Jays play their second game in an Interleague season with the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field on Tuesday. Toronto has been treading water lately and really need to get some momentum if they’re going to run down the division leading Baltimore Orioles who have been playing well of late. Pending the outcome of Monday’s series opener the Jays have gone 5-5 in their last 10 games and have a record of 13-10 for the month of June. The Rockies are mired in third place in the NL West and they could soon be passed up by the two teams below them. Arizona is 7-3 in their last ten games and are 1.5 games back of Colorado. San Diego is 4 games back and 6-4 in their last 10. The Rockies have won two straight pending Monday’s result and are 4-6 in their last ten games. At the moment, they’re the only team in the division that doesn’t have a winning record in their last ten contests.
Toronto will start lefthander J.A. Happ who is very quietly having a good season. The Jays have won 10 of Happ’s 15 starts and he’s put up a 3.42 ERA overall. They’ve split his 8 road starts but Happ has a 2.63 ERA. Toronto has won his last three starts with Happ posting a 2.84 ERA in the process. Toronto shouldn’t have any trouble hitting his Colorado counterpart in this game as right hander Eddie Butler has been struggling. The Rockies have lost 6 of his 8 starts overall with Butler putting up a 6.54 ERA. At home, he’s been downright brutal with a 10.42 ERA in four starts which include 19 innings pitched, 35 hits and 22 earned runs. They’ve also lost Butler’s last three starts. Butler has never faced the Jays but Toronto’s Happ’s teams have a 5-1 +3.9 unit record against Colorado with the lefthander posting a 3.09 ERA and a 1.200 WHIP.
Colorado is capable of winning a few games here and there but they’ve lost money at home and against lefthanders. It’s hard to see Toronto’s offense having any trouble hitting Butler and with the team knowing they need to string some wins together this looks like a good spot for them to do so.
